Troubleshooting Tips

adobe acrobat connect pro logoThe National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) hosts and conducts online trainings using a tool called Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro. The following tips may be helpful if you are having trouble logging into Connect Pro online meeting room:

Your computer may be missing a required plugin: To participate in a Connect Pro online meeting, your computer must be equipped with the Flash player plugin. This is a free download from Adobe that is common and already installed on many computers. If your computer does not have this plugin, you will be prompted to download it when attempting to log in to the Connectx Pro online meeting room. If you are not prompted to download the Flash player plugin, but believe this may still be the problem, the plugin can be downloaded manually from the Adobe website.

Your network administrator may have blocked the downloading of plugins: As a security measure, some organizations set up their computer networks to prevent the downloading of plugins. If this is the case, you will need to talk to your network administrator so that he/she can enable you to download this plugin.

Your network administrator may have blocked the usage of the Connect Pro port: As a security measure, some organizations set up their computer networks to block the usage of certain ports that are required to access more advanced types of internet applications, such as Connect Pro. If you have logged in to the Connect Pro meeting room, but the actual Connect Pro meeting room does not open up in another window, your network may have blocked the port needed to access the online meeting. To remedy this problem, your network administrator will need to open/enable port 1935.

Your computer's pop-up blocker may be preventing the launching of the Connect Pro meeting room: If your computer uses a pop-up blocker, make sure that your pop-up blocker is disabled so as to allow the Connect Pro meeting room to "pop up" from the login screen.
